Last week I got slammed in the Twitter-Fail web site http://bit.ly/YfbcB The Authors of the site claimed and I quote ‘has exactly one post on his blog, and 39 updates telling us about it. He’s obviously pretty proud of his blog, since he just can’t keep it to himself. And, who wouldn’t be, since, if you click through, you’ll find out how he made millions last year in affiliate marketing.’ because I twittered about my Blog 39 times apparently this upset two Australian Twitters who proceeded to put me in to Twitter-Fail.
Sometime back I worked with a guy called Jim Riordan and I learnt a lot from Jim. One of Jim’s favorite saying s was “Get the Facts” and in this case Twitter-Fail has FAILED. If they had clicked around my site they would have found it wasn’t about me making millions of dollars but the sponsors of the affiliate marketing sites. Most of these would been promoted by Google’s Adsense. And yes I do receive a commission from the advertising on my Blog from Adsense…and todate….18 cents.. good work if you can get it.
So guys if you are going to criticize someone’s work get it right, as Jim would have said ‘Get the facts’. You know I wouldn’t mind so much being attacked if the assault was based on the content of my work. Keeping in mind that their ethos is to protect fellow Twitters from the big boogey man over the using of twitter as a none social media tool.
The following is what you would read on the Twitter-Fail web site;
‘Some people understand social media. They use it to connect, keep in touch, make new friends and find business partners. Others don't get the "social" aspect, and indiscriminately automate their posts, use it to push advertising, run scams, and more’.
There are a couple of things wrong here.
They indicated people use social media to find business partners…then how on Twitter do you find business partners unless you use it to push advertising?
If you do not want to see what someone has to say on Twitter you stop following them. Simple?Yes! They just don’t get it.
Who is so anal they would count how many times someone has Twittered about their own Blog? By the way it wasn’t the same message 39 times over.
Next who ordained Twitter-Fail as the God of Twitter, casting condemnations of those who Twitter sinfully? My guess is that they are a bunch of small minded people who want to tear down other people’s good work, having no real talent themselves except to criticize other people. This they are really good at.
